2008

Some things we've been up to this year...

Lucy turns 10 on Christmas. We celebrated with her friends earlier in the month with a rockin' birthday party! Lucy played another season of soccer this past fall. It was really fun to watch how much they are learning about the game. Lucy continues to do well in school (4th grade) and is such a responsible big sister (when she's not bugging her brother!).

Trevor played baseball in the spring and soccer in the fall. He loves sports! Trevor is getting ready to turn 8 and get baptized in January. It is such an important milestone for him and we are proud of the good choices he is making. Trevor's baptism is planned for January 10th in Bellingham where his Grandpa Vaughn is also getting baptized! Trevor is doing really well in 2nd grade and has written some really creative stories and was in the school play last month!

Ella finished off dance last spring with her dance recital, played t-ball in the spring, soccer in the fall and started kindergarten this fall. She really likes her teacher and has made some great friends in her class. She is learning a lot and having fun! She loves to write and draw pictures! Her favorite 'center' at school is the 'write around the room' where they wear reading glasses (minus the lenses) and look for words in the room that begin with a certain letter!

Ben is still working at Primus International (going into his 11th year there) as the manager of the swaging department. They are getting ready for a move to a new larger facility in Woodinville, WA in March. The commute will be about the same miles, we'll just have to see about the traffic on 405.

With all the kids in school now, I decided to go back to school myself to become an Occupational Therapy Assistant. I'm attending Green River Community College and taking classes online as much as possible, but will be on campus full time beginning next fall. I should graduate spring of 2011. Along with going to school, I'm volunteering on the PTSA as an art docent and the spritwear chair, and I'm also babysitting a couple days a week. So... I've been keeping busy! :)

Over the summer, we went camping in Winthrop, WA at Pearygin Lake and had 100 plus degree weather. We took a trip to see my Grandma at her new home in Albany, OR. We had a Choate family reunion here in Washington where we saw lots of family that we had not seen in several years.
